Beautifully decorated with unique "Old-World Teak" pieces, the bedrooms at Tunnel Creek Lodge are a masterful combination of comfort, functionality, ambience and attention to detail. Guests can even set their room's temperature to their liking, as each room features its own hydronic thermostat, controlling just the temperature in that room. Combine that with abundent fresh mountain air, and you have the makings for a good - if not perfect - night's sleep.
This family-friendly luxury log home can sleep up to 14 - on three different levels - in the following rooms:
Living area, kitchen, and two bedrooms:
- View Room
- Master Bedroom
While every room dons a spectacular view, the first room on the main level just seems to edge them all out a little bit, with panoramic views of both Lake and forest. The View Room features a King bed, flat screen TV, and private bath.
At the opposite corner of the main level you'll find the Master Bedroom, which features a King bed, wall-mounted flat screen TV, and private bath with an over-sized jacuzzi tub. Enjoy unobstructed views of Lake Tahoe via french doors that lead to a private deck and the backyard.
One flight down from the main level you'll find the Media Room, Lower Level Bedroom, a half-bath and the laundry room.
- Lower Level Bedroom
- Media Room
This corner view room features an elevated King bed and a flat screen TV. Its private side entrance to the back lawn.
The only non-view room in the house, the Media Room makes good use of it's lack of windows with the over-sized, wall-mounted flat screen TV, surround-sound stereo, plus sofa, chair and bean bag - all of which ... might we dare say ... are so comfy you'll be hard pressed to make it back to your bed. It's the perfect spot to turn off the lights, pop in your favorite movie, turn up the sound, pass around the popcorn and soak in that "private theater feel" normally reserved for the rich and famous ...
Top (third) Level
In addition to the three Top Level bedrooms, in the open area (overlooking the living room), you'll find a pool table, bar and our own uniquely fashioned mini-poker table, finished to perfection from a tree stump.
On the staircase mid-landing, take a rest at the "office" - a unique wooden desk with a twisted base. Fire-up the 'ol laptop and check in with the office - or surf the web - via Tunnel Creek's free Wifi. However we warn you, it might be tough to focus with the tree tops and the mountain beckoning to you through the expansive double picture windows in front of you.
Situated directly above "The View Room", the Bonus Room is a close rival for the title of "Best View". It's called the Bonus Room because if you decide to draw back the decorative drapery which substitutes as one wall, this loft room floods to abundant, radiant natural light, as it opens up overlooking the stairwell "office". If privacy is your thing, keep the drapes drawn and try to contain your gasps and sighs everytime you catch a glimpse of the panoramic Lake views out the two corner windows. The Bonus Room features a King bed, sitting area and armoire.
Ideal for parents with young children, this large Top Level room features forest views with a Queen bed and two Twins. The wall-mounted flat screen TV is wired with connections for whatever home video game system you want to bring to keep the kids occupied (Wii, Xbox, Playstation, etc.)
This cozy and elegant corner room rounds out the home and features - what else - expansive Lake views, a private bath, King bed, and flat screen TV. Its own private back door entrance leads to the secluded deck - home to the Lake view hot tub - the best place on the property to be at sunset, or after dark searching for falling stars. (Note: while visiting, see if you can spot the one heart-shaped pillar on the Bridal Suite bridge.)
