Mountain Biking The Flume Trail

While the vast acreage surrounding Tunnel Creek Lodge is a virtual playground beckoning to be explored via hike or bike, if you want the full Tahoe mountain bike experience, don't miss the famed Flume Trail, which ends just a stones throw from your private luxury rental log home. The Flume Trail takes you around the North Eastern "rim" of Lake Tahoe where views are nothing short of spectacular.

At the edge of the Tunnel Creek property, on Hwy 28, the old Bunk House from the Ponderosa Ranch now serves as a bike and recreation hub called Tunnel Creek Station - a branch of Flume Trail Mountain Bikes. The Station provides Tunnel Creek Lodge guests convenient access - right on property - to bike rentals and shuttle rides to the launch point of the Flume Trail.

Whether you bring your own bike, or rent one here, be sure to pack a picnic lunch and plenty of water, then take your time to really soak in all the splendor of one of the premier trails of the world.

Eventually, your Flume ride experience will take a turn most can only dream of ... right to the steps of your secluded and luxurious rental log home - Tunnel Creek Lodge. A well-earned soak in the hot tub on our Lake view deck while sipping a congratulatory drink could very well be the perfect cap to the perfect day.

Note: the Flume Trail is a moderately difficult ride with a big payoff of unparalleled beauty. Learn more details about the Flume Trail ride here.
